BILBAO SERIES
Während einer Reise in die baskische Kulturmetropole Bilbao fotografierte ich einige Strassen-Details, die meine Asphalt Arbeiten erweitern sollten. Inspiriert vom kreativen Flair dieser Stadt und den gemachten Fotografien erwog ich später den üblichen Weg von der faktisch dokumentarischen Fotografie zu verlassen und experimentierte mit den Mitteln der Bild-Transformation, die mir so einen neuen künstlerischen Spielraum eröffnete. Die Darstellungsform in den Bilbao Series ist als Weiterentwicklung von Vertical Marks zu verstehen. Mit partiellem Farbeinsatz und technischen Eingriffen in die Bildstrukturen, gestaltete ich eine Bildserie, die auch die Möglichkeit von Sequenzen und deren freien Anordnung zuließ. Wie zum Beispiel im Triptychon Bilbao Transformation Marks oder bei Bilbao Blue Relict oder bei Bilbao Diagonal Mark etc. In den Bilbao Series habe ich versucht, mir nicht nur eine fotografische Neupositionierung zu verschaffen, sondern auch die Grundlage für ein erweitertes Abbild von Wirklichkeit zu entwickeln.
During a trip to the Basque cultural metropolis Bilbao, I photographed some road details that were supposed to extend my asphalt works. Inspired by the creative flair of this city and the photographs I took, I later considered leaving the usual path of factual documentary photography and experimented with the means of image transformation, which opened up a new artistic space for me. The form of representation in the Bilbao Series is to be understood as a further development of Vertical Marks. With partial use of color and technical interventions in the image structures, I created a series of images that also allowed the possibility of sequences and their free arrangement. As for example in the triptych Bilbao Transformation Marks or in Bilbao Blue Relict or in Bilbao Diagonal Mark etc., I also created a series of pictures that allowed the possibility of sequences and their free arrangement.
