Landscape Serie
Der Bildaufbau der Landscape Serie ist auf den ersten Blick widersprüchlich und unlogisch, da die Vertikale hier in ein Querformat gezwungen wird und ihr wichtigstes Merkmal die Senkrechte sich nicht gebührend entfalten kann. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Reihe steht ein breit gefächertes Farbspektrum aus Vertikalstreifen. Achtzig Farbfelder zeigen eine ungeordnete Farbkarte bestehend aus Voll- und Zwischentönen zusammen mit einer Vielzahl von Grauwerten.
Die Merkfähigkeit von längeren Farbsequenzen können vom Sehapparat nicht optimal erfasst werden, da den Rezeptoren des Auges in Verbindung mit der neuronalen Leistung des Gehirns Grenzen gesetzt sind. Dieses Faktum hat mich bewogen einen bestimmten Bereich aus diesem 80-streifigen Farbfeldobjekt heraus zu selektieren.
Das Extrakt
In der gleichen Formatgröße nur mit 12 prägnanten Farbstreifen transformiert sich nun das Extrakt zu einem völlig neuen Farbobjekt. Interessant ist, dass auch nach längerer Betrachtung nicht gleich der kongruente Bildausschnitt im Ausgangsobjekt zu orten ist und deshalb vielleicht auch eine andere Farbrealität entsteht im Vergleich zu seinem komplexen Ursprungsbild. In Wirklichkeit, so glaube ich, entstand tatsächlich ein neues Bild das sich von seinem vorausgehenden Kontext abnabelte und so eine vollkommen neue Bildrealität entfaltet.
Landscape Series
The pictorial structure of the Landscape series is contradictory and illogical at first glance, since the vertical is forced into a landscape format here and its most important feature, the vertical, cannot develop properly. The focus of this series is a broad color spectrum of vertical stripes. Eighty color patches show an unordered color map consisting of solids and intermediates along with a variety of grays.
The retentiveness of longer color sequences cannot be optimally grasped by the visual apparatus, since the receptors of the eye are limited in connection with the neuronal performance of the brain. This fact induced me to select a certain area out of this 80-strip color field object.
The extract
In the same format size, only with 12 concise color stripes, the extract is now transformed into a completely new color object. It is interesting that even after a longer observation, the congruent image section cannot be located immediately in the original object and therefore perhaps a different color reality arises in comparison to its complex original image. In reality, I believe, a new image actually emerged that was detached from its preceding context and thus unfolded a completely new pictorial reality.
